The Friends of the Root River (FORR) will host Luther Aadland on Wednesday, March 23 at the Chatfield Public Library meeting room. Aadland is a river ecologist with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR). One of his specialties is the study of dams. He has worked with many communities facing the growing national predicament of what to do with aging dams. The evening’s program “Dams, Rivers and Ecosystems” will share facts and information on dams and rivers and how they relate, as well as common issues relating to dams on a national and global scale. The program will begin at 7 p.m. with light snacks served at 6:30 p.m.
This meeting is open to the public.
FORR formed as a non-profit organization in 2015 committed to the health of the Root River. There will be additional information at the meeting about who we are, what we have done and what we plan to do in the coming year. Anyone interested in supporting the Friends of the Root River can send donations to P.O. Box 97, Preston, MN 55965.
