Forestry Field Day at Forestville State Park sponsored by Fillmore County Soil and Water Conservation District. There will be a light supper at 5:30 p.m. followed by a program at 6:00 p.m. This year’s program: Using Fire for Vegetation Management (without calling 911). Learn the benefits of using fire for vegetation management from local forestry experts on a guided tour at Forestville State Park. Parking passes provided at no charge.
Directions: 4 miles south of Hwy 16 on CR-5, then 2 miles east on CR-118. Picnic area is ¾ mile beyond the park ranger station. The bridge on the east side of the park is closed. Please enter from CR-5.
Annie Hejny is a contemporary artist who uses river water, earth and pigment as a base for her paintings. She will be a resident artist in Lanesboro for the month of August. She invites us to join in creation. Here is her schedule:

The Spirit of the Root River in Words and Color: a reflective workshop will take place in the upper level studio space of the St. Mane Theatre 5 – 7pm

A Capstone Art & Poetry Presentation at the Lanesboro Museum’s outdoor porch 6 – 8pm (Rain site tba)

An Artist Demonstration and Farewell Discussion at Lanesboro Arts Gallery 1 – 4pm
